BGF CSA - "What's In the Box?" Week 3

Posted 6/17/2019 1:44pm by Scott Farabaugh.

Dear Blue Goose Farm CSA Members,

We appreciate everyone's cooperation. The first two weeks have gone well, and it seems our members are off to a great start with kitchen creativity.  Just a few things we would like to mention:

- Mark your calendars to remind yourselves of your CSA pick-up day.

- We suggest rinsing all produce before using it. Our organic methods prevent us from using certain chemicals to rid the bugs, and we do not pre-rinse most crops. So dirt or the occasional worm/slug may appear on your end.

- Please do not mark vacations in the binders. Inform us through email of your vacation intentions so we may handle the logistics internally, and let us mark the binders.

- Please do not write on the boxes. Our boxes are all packed identically so we avoid the personalization. We also reuse the boxes week-to-week.

"WHAT'S IN THE BOX" - WEEK 3bok choy, garlic scapes, green onions, head lettuce, kale, kohlrabi, strawberries, turnips, and peas.

Recipe Suggestions: Grilled Bok Choy; Kohlrabi Fritters; Salad with Peas, Grapes, and Feta; Kale Brownies (All of these may be found on the website.)

Happy Eating!                                                                                             Scott & Chrissy Farabaugh
