BLUE GOOSE FARM ~ Nicktown, PA

FROM OUR HANDS TO YOUR TABLE

Welcome to the blog.

Dear Blue Goose Farm CSA Members,

We hope you're not getting too moldy with the wet weather we've been having. We have a nice box for you this week, and hope you make time to try the recipes. Please take a look at the recipes we have on our website as well.  If the amount of veggies seem a bit much to eat fresh, freezing is always an option. There are resources online to help you with freezing small amounts of food.

Dear Blue Goose Farm CSA Members,

Welcome to our 11th CSA season!  Ever since we opened registration in February, many of you have expressed your anticipation for the season to begin. After a long, cold winter, here we are and here we go again...

We have some good things for you this week.  As mentioned in the newsletter, it is a given that you'll be eating lots of greens. If it wasn't already, green will be your new favorite color!  Utilize your cookbooks (those antiquated volumes of paper with recipes), favorite Pinterest sites, or you tubes videos, for what to do with fresh produce.

Dear Blue Goose Farm CSA Members,

Start thinking fall favorite recipes. With another butternut squash, perhaps try roasting it, pureeing it, and then freezing it for a future use (see recipe and tip inside). And here is a link to another recipe festive for the season:

Apple Autumn Hash

Dear Blue Goose Farm CSA Members,

Sadly, it is the last week of the season. It has been a good, long summer. We have two lovely fall recipes for you this issue. They require a bit of time chopping and prepping, but the edible outcome will be worth it. We will soon update our recipes on our website to include all those from this current season, so come back to visit us there. We hope you've enjoyed your CSA season with us.

Dear Blue Goose Farm CSA Members,

We are back to basics this week. The box is full of the staples that every kitchen should have on hand. Our family highlight this week provides a wonderful, seasonal Butternut Squash soup recipe - one that the cook created herself by taking what she liked best from several recipes. And here is the link to another recipe we provide for your liking: Wild & Cheesy Broccoli Casserole
