Dear BGF CSA Members and Friends,

We have been graced this year with many blessings. This is an opportune time to reflect on them and to look ahead in anticipation of others to come. We can not forget those who help keep our farm going year-after-year. And we thank you dearly for your support.

Though we come from various faiths and ethnicities, it is this time of year that we all agree to find the goodness in mankind, to give more of ourselves to others in need, and to be mindful of the reason for this season. To all of you, Merry Christmas!

We look forward to rejoining you in 2012. Happy New Year!

Dear BGF CSA Members,

We have successfully finished another CSA season. Yes, this is our final week for the 2011 season. For some, this is a sad time; for others, this means no more lettuce! We have had quite a year - the weather being our biggest challenge. We thank you for joining us this season and hope you will consider rejoining next year.

We will be in touch with you mid-winter when we will mail out our annual brochure in February - explaining CSA membership. Remember our membership is on a first-come-first-serve basis with an early bird incentive. You are welcome to visit our website...we do hope to continue to post updates even in winter.

Each season offers its own flavors. Summer is full of cool, light foods - think lettuce and tomatoes. Autumn is full of warm, filling foods - think potatoes and squash. And our winter squash is in full force. You'll be receiving some variety of it each week until the end of the season. Enjoy it!

We believe we heard some voices singing, "Rain, rain, be on your way, come on 'round another day. I'll need my boots and a puddle or two, and I'll be happy to play with you." So far, the weather this week has been delightfully cooperative and pleasant to be in...especially after last week of trying to pick eggplant in torrential downpours.
