Cottage Noodles and Cabbage

1 box of small shell pasta

1 stick butter

½ head of cabbage, chopped

1 onion, chopped

2 C cottage cheese

Salt and pepper to taste  

Cook pasta according to package directions, then drain.

Meanwhile, in skillet, melt butter and sauté cabbage and onions. Cook until onions become translucent. Remove from heat and stir in cottage cheese.

Add pasta to cabbage-and-cheese mixture and gently stir.  Salt and pepper to taste.  

NOTE: Yes, warm cottage cheese does taste good!  If you enjoy spicy food, add a dash of cayenne pepper or chopped hot peppers. You may also try adding leftover chopped ham or keilbasa to this dish to create a one-dish meal.
